UOB Malaysia is committed to recruiting and developing a team of trainees who will be coached to excel within the bank.This position is open for immediate hiring, and we are seeking candidates who can join our team promptly to contribute to our ongoing projects. Please note that only shortlisted candidates are contacted for the next stage of applications.About The DepartmentThe Global Market function leverages our in-depth knowledge of markets to provide timely financial advice, products and solutions to our clients. Together with our segment managers, we manage our clients’ investment, liability and risk management needs through a comprehensive suite of treasury products and services across multiple asset classes.Job ResponsibilitiesPre-license phaseAssist sale team in the acquisition of new clients, build and nurture customer relationships with both local and foreign clients.Assist senior sale dealers in executing deals in accordance with market conditions and internal risk parameters.Study for and work toward obtaining FMAM certification (after working hours).Shadow senior sale dealers during client calls, trade execution, and market analysis to understand the complete sales and dealing process.Provide support for client management, including conducting market research, preparing reports, and providing updates on market developments to the team.Post-license phaseHandling client calls by understanding their needs, executing deals and providing financial advisory to the clients over the phone.Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities, cold-calling or arranging meetings with clients.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensure satisfaction with the services provided.Continuously monitor global financial markets, economic indicators, and market trends that impact currency, interest rates, and other treasury products.Work closely with governance team i.e. Legal, Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance to ensure all transactions and activities are compliant with regulatory standards and internal policies.Reporting to clients timely, orderly and accurately at all times.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in finance, economics, chemical engineering, mathematics, or a related fieldFresh graduates are encouraged to apply, on the job training will be providedKeen interest in financial market, passion for dealing in stocks and sharesStrong analytical and numerical skillsAbility to work under pressure and make quick decisions in fast-paced market environmentsGood communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholdersAble to work independently, a team player, high achiever and target drivenBasic knowledge in treasury products including fixed income, foreign exchange instruments such as Spot, Options, Swaps, Forwards and interest rate derivativesAdditional RequirementsDevelop, Engage, Execute, StrategiseBe a Part of the UOB FamilyUOB is an equal opportunity employer.
