Any information collected there is subject to their terms and privacy notice.Job Title: Claims Assistant (FULLY REMOTE BUT ONLY TAKING CANDIDATES IN OREGON)Job DescriptionThe Claims Assistant is responsible for providing quality warranty registration and warranty claim handling of low to medium-complexity roofing claims from the first notice of loss through resolution/settlement and payment process. This role provides administrative support to the Claims Manager and Claims Specialist, and involves interaction via phone and e-mail with homeowners, roofers, distributors, and sales. Gathering information and reports for warranty claims from involved parties is essential. The position requires exceptional phone skills and the ability to handle difficult situations professionally. Interaction with customer service and accounting is also part of the job when processing payments and credits. Additionally, answering homeowner questions on technical issues and redirecting technical calls to the appropriate resource is required. Data entry and high attention to detail are crucial for this role.ResponsibilitiesAdhere to company policies, including safety and use of personal protective equipment. Collaborate with Warranty Claims Manager to meet internal and external customer needs. Return improperly completed warranty claims forms for correction and/or completion. Review and validate incoming claims, warranty registration, and transfer information. Maintain records of all claims submitted, returned/rejected, or paid and their current status. Evaluate claims’ validity and apply terms of the applicable warranty or policy. Settle claims within authority directly with roofers, homeowners, and distributors. Review and process all warranty claims, tracking each claim until its final resolution. Process all warranty registrations in a timely manner. Contact appropriate parties regarding claims requiring special assistance. Establish and maintain positive relationships with sales representatives and roofing contractors and distributors. Use claims process information to collaborate with IT on process flow improvements. Work on improving claim closure time, creating process flows, and identifying major complexities causing delays. Conduct analysis and prepare claims reports for management in coordination with the director of quality. Essential SkillsStrong customer service skills Capability of dealing with difficult situations and diverse people High attention to detail Proficiency in Data Entry Experience with MS Office Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Google Suite preferred Experience with CRMs preferred Knowledge of roofing is a plus Associates Degree or higher highly preferred Work EnvironmentThe position offers a 100% fully remote work environment after the initial setup day in the Portland office to receive laptop and equipment.
