Our games will be fun to explore and manageable in size and complexity – AAA in consumer feedback and visibility, not by ´old school´ industry standards. We value solution focus, direct and efficient communication as well as a hands-on mentality over excessive meetings and process management.Over time and given subsequent greenlights, the team and product will grow and scale according to player feedback. We believe keeping the core team stable and building around it, so the role is of utmost importance to us.ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Game & Narrative Designer, you will work within the Art and Tech team members to deliver features, tuning and balancing, and content creation, also using your understanding and passion for designing player-first experiences to add to the creative execution and business success of the game. Your ability to fully understand target audience demographics and adopt to their preferences and behaviors is crucial to a successful journey.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESYou will use your understanding and passion to add to the creative execution and business success of the game team. Reconciling the business and creative needs in order to create an inspirational product requires you to permanently keep a proactive communication going with stakeholders and all team members, constantly aiming to process and address feedback.You will drive team culture by initiating, fostering, maintaining, and inspiring others towards positive working relationships with partners who are critical to both current and future development process. We are an ´office politics free zone´, meaning you will embrace differences and creative conflicts and solve them with strong, data-based inputs and open communication.You will continuously study and investigate relevant data about your target audience and asses current and potential solutions to adjust to their needs, behaviors and preferences. From building and sharing customer persona models to planning A/B testing creatives and artistic decisions, you will support the development with a data-driven mindset.You will help establishing the tone of the game and develop creative and efficient ways to present the world/theme/story to the players.You will take ownership in the design of core mechanics, controls, and camera dynamics, as well as the planning for how they should be used in-game.You will be involved in the creation of prototypes, adjusting and validating systems prior to starting production. You will assess the success of prototypes by measuring how objectives are met, using relevant quantitative and qualitative assessment techniques.You will adjust the balance and implementation of game systems to allow for a player experience that aligns with the mutually agreed vision.You will collaborate with external and internal sound and narrative designers to create and maintain a cohesive narrative execution.QUALIFICATIONSA minimum of one (1) shipped title with commercial intentions.2-5 years experience working within the games industry (ideally as a Junior Game/Level/Narrative Designer)A strength for managing priorities, solving problems, and meeting deadlines while maintaining a positive outlook.Mastery of English language.Resilience and leadership capability (leading by example, strong and clear communication).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent research and analytical skills with data-driven mindset.Ability to present a clear narrative concept and design based on a set demographic cluster.Attention to detail with the ability to comprehend complex issues abstractly.Sufficient skills in math to properly balance and master game mechanics.Extremely pro-active in fostering dialogue and precise critical discourse, yet willing to listen and `let go` when necessary.BONUS QUALIFICATIONSNative English speaker.Connoisseur of dark, edgy humor and memes.Fan of 90´s to early 2000´s US TV shows, movies and entertainment.History of consuming US pro sports, stand up comedy, wrestling and enjoying dive bar nights with friends.SPECIFICATIONS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITSThis is a remote role, specifically targeting individuals in Europe (to align with our other team members in Germany and Scandinavia).
