Job OverviewThe Stock Controller ensures the efficient and compliant management of vehicle storage operations and is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, overseeing all vehicle movements in and out of storage, optimising parking allocation, and coordinating with third-party logistics providers. By leveraging digital tools such as Power BI and Parking Management Systems, this job supports operational visibility and informed decision-making. The Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining high standards of operational control, audit readiness, and compliance with internal protocols and external regulations.
Key Accountabilities And ResponsibilitiesVehicle Inventory ManagementMaintain complete and accurate documentation for all vehicles received into and dispatched from storage. Ensure that all vehicle transactions follow the approved Location Transfer Procedures. Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure system records match physical inventory. Movement and Transfer CoordinationMonitor all vehicle movements within the storage network by tracking and processing Location Transfer Service Requests. Verify and manage Gate Passes for inbound and outbound transfers, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Liaise with third-party transport vendors to coordinate vehicle dispatches and deliveries while ensuring full compliance with safety and transport regulations.
Parking and Space OptimizationMaintain and update the Parking Management System to accurately reflect vehicle positioning and space allocation. Analyse and interpret parking layout maps to optimize space usage and improve vehicle visibility and accessibility. Support daily operational planning through accurate tracking and reporting of parking occupancy. Reporting and Audit ComplianceGenerate monthly dashboards and reports on vehicle storage levels, vehicle movement trends, and parking occupancy. Perform periodic stock counts and audits in line with internal procedures and audit guidelines. Investigate and highlight inventory discrepancies, documenting findings and supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
Digital Tools and Data AnalysisExtract, analyse, and visualize data related to vehicle stock and parking using Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power Bi. Assist in the creation and maintenance of operational dashboards to support business insights and performance tracking. GeneralUphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making. Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
Minimum Required ExperienceA minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in logistics, transport, inventory control, or a similar operational rolePrevious experience in an automotive storage or vehicle handling environment is a distinct advantageDemonstrated experience using logistics or warehouse management systems (WMS)Hands-on experience in generating reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence toolsMinimum Required QualificationBachelor's degree in a related field.
