Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Higg FEM Generalist Verifier to join our team in Latin America. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the environmental sector, with a deep understanding of the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) and its application in the apparel and textile industry. As a Higg FEM Generalist Verifier, you will be responsible for conducting verifications of facility assessments, ensuring adherence to the Higg Index protocols, and providing valuable insights to improve environmental performance.TasksKey Responsibilities:Higg FEM Verification: Conduct comprehensive verifications of Higg FEM self-assessments for facilities in the Bangladesh market, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Higg Index protocols.Data Analysis: Analyze environmental data submitted by facilities, identify discrepancies, and ensure that reported data accurately reflects the facility's environmental performance.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with facility managers, sustainability teams, and other stakeholders to provide clear and actionable feedback on Higg FEM assessments.Training and Support: Provide guidance and support to facilities on the Higg FEM process, helping them to understand requirements and improve their environmental performance.Reporting: Prepare detailed verification reports, including findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement, and present these to both internal and external stakeholders.Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with local environmental regulations and international standards, ensuring that facilities meet both legal and industry requirements.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the verification process and contribute to the development of best practices in Higg FEM verifications.RequirementsQualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. A master’s degree will be considered an advantage.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the environmental sector, with a strong background in environmental audits, sustainability assessments, or related roles. Experience in the apparel and textile industry is highly desirable.Certification: Higg FEM Verifier certification or relevant experience in using the Higg Index tools is preferred.Technical Skills: Proficiency in environmental data analysis, familiarity with environmental management systems, and knowledge of sustainability reporting standards.Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and observational skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of verifications.Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.Preferred Proficiencies:Experience with sustainability initiatives in manufacturing or industrial settings.Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and standards.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Working Conditions:This position will require travel to various facilities for on-site inspections.Flexibility in working hours to accommodate different time zones and schedules.
