Geography Teacher (Full Time)

St Francis Methodist School (International) caters to children from 6 to 18 years of age. We are looking for a passionate, adaptable High School Geography Teacher to grow our Humanities Department.You will be reporting to Head of Department (Humanities) and your job responsibilities will include:Key ResponsibilitiesWillingness to contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Geography and Humanities team and broader High SchoolConstruct learner-centred education and experiences, support the diversity of learners in each classroom and demonstrate the ability to employ technologies and deliver inquiry-based teaching and learningImplement formative and summative assessments that are timely, relevant and provide appropriate feedback to support students’ learningDemonstrate effective classroom management, create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, and employ strategies to support the academic learning, social and emotional well-being of studentsProactively engage and communicate with parents/guardians on students’ learning and well-beingPromote the ethos and values of the schoolUndertake as Form class teacher, Co-Academic programme duties, organise and participate in school committees and eventsPerform teaching-related administrative dutiesPerform any other duties that are reasonable and appropriate for a full-time teacher.RequirementsA degree in Geography or Geography-related fieldRecognised Diploma in Teaching / equivalent certificationMinimum 3 years of teaching experienceFamiliarity with one or more of the following syllabi: Singapore Cambridge 'O' Level International General Certificate of Secondary Education (UK)An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environmentSelf-motivated and passionate about educating youthsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsFlexible and adaptable, able to manage change and ambiguity wellAdept in learning new educational tools and software where necessary
