GIS Specialist - Mapping / Spatial team, Subsidence Advisory NSWGrade: Clerk Grade 7/8 Salary range: $113,574 - $125,720 + superannuation and leave loading Duration: Ongoing, Full-time Location: Hybrid work arrangement, Newcastle location. Office attendance required 2 -3 days per week. About Us The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider, regulator and central agency of government.Subsidence Advisory NSW operates for the community in coal mining areas of New South Wales, Australia, and is responsible for administering the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act. Expert advice is provided to property owners, government departments and authorities, local councils, community organisations and industries within Mine Subsidence Districts, and throughout NSW. About the roleWe are seeking an experienced GIS mapping professional to join Subsidence Advisory NSW mapping / spatial team in providing a range of services related to the creation, management and presentation of geographic and spatial information to informs decision-making and service delivery. You will be also providing specialist mapping and data services through the collation, quality assurance and processing of diverse GIS datasets, applying highly developed spatial and programming skills, and knowledge to meet operational and strategic needs.To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate at the required capability level:Degree in spatial science, geographical information and data analysis or other relevant field or significant relevant experience in these fields. A strong background delivering solutions in GIS and Remote Sensing. Demonstrated ability to analyse and integrate GIS applications with database and web applications using automation and scripting.
