Together we’re strong and resilient, and we work hard to make sure we’re always at our best.The Senior Manager, Cyber Defence – Detection Engineering is responsible for driving log onboarding and detection engineering activities. They will work with various teams to enhance threat detection through SIEM, EDR and other security controls.What Is The RoleDeliver end-to-end log onboarding activities with business and technology teamsDesign and implement custom detections on SIEM platforms, using threat intelligence, threat modelling and data analysisAutomate processes and workflows to enhance cyber defence capabilitiesDevelop dashboards and alerting for log health monitoring, threat detection and compliance.What You Bring7+ years of cyber security experience within large/complex organisations, ideally in a detection engineering and/or log management capacity.Demonstrated experience in log onboarding, threat modelling, and detection engineering (threat research, rule development, tuning).Strong hands-on experience with SIEM, log management, EDR/XDR, TIP and SOAR platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, Crowdstrike NGSIEM, Cribl etc.).Proficiency in scripting and CI/CD pipelines.Solid understanding of cyber threat landscape, attacker techniques, log management and detection engineering principles.Ability to work independently to drive security outcomes, in collaboration with technology and business teams.Excellent problem solving and project management skills.Relevant industry certifications such as Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, CISSP, CISM, GCIA and/or GCDA are beneficial.Why Qantas?
