TraceMark provides map-centric insights that drive impact across industries such as agriculture, sustainability, transport, and natural resources.Whether working on the TraceMark roadmap or a bespoke client solution, our engineers bring technical excellence, collaboration, and a shared passion for geospatial innovation to everything they build.The RoleThe Automation Test Engineer will play a key role in establishing and maintaining NGIS’s automated testing framework, ensuring our products are released with confidence through reliable, repeatable, and efficient testing practices. Beyond building automated tests, you’ll manage test environments, integrate automation into deployment pipelines, and contribute to ongoing improvements in how we deliver software.This role is part of our QA/Test team and works closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners. You’ll help ensure our applications are thoroughly validated across data workflows and end-to-end user journeys, contributing directly to the quality and stability of our software.About YouQualifications Tertiary education in IT, or a related disciplineExperience 3+ years’ experience in test automation / QA automation / SDET or similar roleProven track record of designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end UI and API automation suitesHands-on experience managing test environments: creation, data seeding, teardown/cleanupExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps, but open to similar tools)Familiarity with containerisation technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) for isolating services/dependenciesStrong exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC), working from user stories, acceptance criteria, and regression cyclesSkillsProficiency in at least one programming/scripting language used in test automation (e.g. JavaScript / TypeScript, Python, or similar)Experience with modern UI automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress (or equivalent), and API automationDeep understanding of test automation frameworks and tools (UI, API, integration)Ability to architect a test automation framework: modular, maintainable, reusableHands-on integrating tests into Azure DevOps (or similar) including adding stages, managing test artifacts, and implementing gates.Skills in environment management: provisioning, data seeding, state reset, ephemeral environmentsExperience working with and extending deployment pipelines—be comfortable adding test stages, handling artifacts, gating logicThe following skills are highly regardedFamiliarity with containerisation technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) for isolating services/dependenciesExposure to IaC (e.g. Terraform) for spinning up test infrastructureWhy Join NGIS?Work with purpose, building technology that drives environmental and social impact.Collaborate with talented engineers and geospatial experts across global teams.Flexible working arrangements; option to opt-in to a 9-day fortnight.Continuous learning culture with support for certification and professional growth.Be part of an innovative company recognised for geospatial and cloud excellence.If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you today!
