DescriptionKerry Consulting is partnering with a leading Agribusiness Group to recruit for a Singapore-based Global Product Technical Lead for its yellow spreads (Butter & Margarine) portfolio. This is a newly created, senior technical role with significant influence across the organisation's operations in Asia and Africa.The position requires deep expertise in new product development for yellow spreads and a strong ability to work closely with manufacturing teams across multiple geographies. The successful individual will have at least ten years of hands-on NPD experience in yellow spreads and must be comfortable travelling extensively to production facilities in both regions.ResponsibilitiesYou will lead the organisation's NPD agenda for yellow spreads, guiding the full development cycle from concept creation and formulation through testing, scale-up and commercialisation. A key part of the role is to optimise recipes, processing methods and manufacturing practices across several factories, ensuring consistent quality, performance and efficiency.You will act as a technical adviser to R&D, production, quality and commercial teams, providing direction, troubleshooting support and practical solutions to advance the product portfolio. You will also translate market and consumer insights into clear development opportunities, identifying improvements or new formulations that can strengthen the organisation's competitiveness in Asia and Africa.In addition, you will monitor broader category trends and technologies, advising on innovation pathways suited to the needs of the regional markets. A further aspect of the role is to deliver technical training and workshops that build capability across internal teams and partner networks. You will oversee technical documentation and support the regulatory and product registration process, ensuring compliance in relevant markets.You will also manage development work at the margarine pilot plant, overseeing formulation trials, evaluations and scale-up activities that support innovation and commercialisation.RequirementsYou should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline, with at least 10 years of NPD experience in yellow spreads. A strong grounding in formulation, recipe development and production optimisation is essential, as is the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across different cultures and functional teams.The role suits someone with an analytical mindset, sound problem-solving ability and the capacity to manage multiple development workstreams in parallel.
