You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.A Day in the LifeFor our markets in Austria and Switzerland, we are looking for a perfect match between a Government Affairs Specialist and Market Access (Focus Reimbursement) expert: the role combines responsibility for Governmental Affairs and Market Access in the Alpine region and plays a key part in shaping healthcare policies, securing, maintaining and developing reimbursement, and ensuring optimal business support for the Medtronic portfolio.The position requires both strategic and hands-on expertise to successfully navigate the complex and network-based healthcare systems in both markets while fostering strong external and internal stakeholder relationships.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Monitor, analyze, and influence healthcare policies and regulations in Switzerland (focus) and Austria with a focus on reimbursement and market access.Lead reimbursement submissions and translate requirements into pragmatic internal company deliverables.Interpret tariffs (CHOP, Tardoc, MEL-Coding), evidence requirements, and market developments to support business decision-making.Actively represent the company within trade associations, driving healthcare policy agendas and leading initiatives to expand access.Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across government, payers, medical associations and other relevant organisations in the healthcare arena.Provide strategic business support by anticipating market access needs and developing and implementing taylor-made business strategiesRequired Knowledge and Experience:University degree in life sciences (medicine, pharmacy, biology, public health) or health economics, political science, or law. Alternative degrees are welcome if proven expertise and experience is given.At least 8 years of experience in Market Access, Health Economics, Governmental/Regulatory Affairs, or Public Policy within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectorDeep knowledge of the Swiss and Austrian healthcare systems, including national and local reimbursement schemesProven experience with reimbursement submissions and pragmatic translation into actionable company deliverablesStrong ability to interpret tariffs and evidence requirementsWell-established stakeholder network in both Switzerland and Austria, as well as strong networking skills both inside and outside the companyDemonstrated leadership in trade association work, with a track record of influencing healthcare policies and pushing boundariesSolid understanding of the medical device marketStrong business acumen and ability to align market access strategies with business needsExcellent communication skills in English and German with the ability to simplify complex topicsWillingness and ability to travel around 25 % within the regionAn advanced degree (e.g., master’s in health economics, Public Policy, Business Administration) is a plus.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. Benefits & CompensationMedtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits PackageA commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
