An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically strong, driven and commercially curious Group Accountant to join a fast-growing, entrepreneurial property investment and development group listed on the Cape Town Stock Exchange. This role is ideal for a newly qualified CA(SA) (or 1–2 years PQE) or a CIMA professional with strong consolidations exposure, who wants meaningful operational involvement, broad business exposure and a clear growth path towards future growth.About the Company:They are a dynamic, hands-on property group with a portfolio, expected to almost double within the next 2–3 years due to major development projects in the pipeline.The business operates in a relaxed, entrepreneurial environment, yet maintains the technical demands and discipline of a listed company. The successful candidate will work closely with a small, experienced leadership team and gain significant exposure across operations, strategy, modelling, financial reporting and project accounting.What you will be doing:Financial Management & Technical AccountingReview monthly management accounts for all entities in the groupManage, mentor and support the in-house accountantProvide technical IFRS support to the businessReview VAT reconciliations and submit VAT201s for multiple entitiesReview income tax calculations (incl. deferred tax) and submit all provisional and annual tax returnsHandle SARS and VAT auditsGroup Accounting, Consolidations & External ReportingPrepare interim and year-end consolidations in Excel across multiple entities Prepare interim and year-end IFRS financial statementsManage year-end audit files and cash-flow workingsLiaise directly with external auditors and manage audit timelinesOperational Finance & Property Industry ExposureProject accounting and budget management for new building developmentsReview monthly tenant recoveries and rentals Analyse electricity and solar recoveriesReview annual valuation packs for valuators and debt providersOversee treasury management and cash-flow forecastingCompliance, Governance & Stakeholder EngagementEnsure company secretarial complianceManage insurance policies across the property portfolioMaintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, and executivesSupport CFO and CEO with information requests and ad hoc analysisWho We’re Looking For:CA(SA) – newly qualified or up to 2 years PQE ORCIMA with proven consolidations + strong IFRS competenceExposure to consolidations (advantage: property audit clients)Solid grasp of IFRS and listed-company reporting cyclesStrong Excel skillsAbility to manage tight deadlines during audit and interim periodsComfortable operating in a small, hands-on teamProactive and takes initiativeCurious, eager to learn, passionate about propertyEasy-going and adaptable, yet highly accountableStrong organisational and problem-solving skillsThrives in an entrepreneurial environmentWhy This Role is ExceptionalPotential succession path within ±5 yearsBroad exposure across technical accounting, operations, modelling, and strategyOpportunity to work directly with the executive teamBlend of listed-company complexity with entrepreneurial cultureSignificant growth happening in the business and portfolioA role that genuinely stretches and develops a young finance professionalSomerset West (on-site)Entrepreneurial, open-plan environmentFlexible when needed Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
