Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Group Financial Control Manager to lead group closing, consolidation, and internal control across multiple countries and legal frameworks. The role ensures IFRS-compliant reporting, robust controls, and alignment of West & North Africa entities with the group’s consolidated structure. You will standardize policies, manage cross-border regulatory requirements (e.g., OHADA/SYSCOHADA, IFRS, US GAAP touchpoints), and deliver high-quality insights for executive decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesGroup Close & Consolidation: Own monthly/quarterly/year-end close; deliver IFRS consolidations with eliminations, FX translation, and disclosures.Multi-Jurisdiction Governance: Track and interpret reporting/filing obligations across countries; map local GAAP/tax outputs (incl. OHADA/SYSCOHADA, IFRS, and US GAAP bridges where applicable) into the group consolidation.Tax Framework Alignment: Coordinate with country finance teams to align West & North Africa tax regimes to group policies; ensure consistent chart-of-accounts mappings, tax packs, and consolidation adjustments.Intercompany & Eliminations: Govern intercompany pricing, confirmations, settlements, and timing differences; enforce documentation standards.Policies & Internal Controls: Maintain accounting policies, close calendar, and ICS/SOX-like control framework; conduct balance-sheet reviews and control testing.External/Internal Audit & Advisors: Lead audits; manage relationships with local tax and financial advisors (Africa & other jurisdictions), ensuring timely filings, rulings, and remediation of findings.Systems & Data Quality: Oversee ERP/consolidation tools (e.g., SAP BPC/Group Reporting, Oracle FCCS, Tagetik); ensure master-data governance and high-quality source-to-report integrations.Management Reporting: Deliver group P&L/BS/CF packs with variance commentary; partner with FP&A on BvA and cash-flow visibility.Process Improvement: Shorten close timelines, automate reconciliations, standardize templates, and uplift entity capabilities.Leadership: Coach entity/site finance teams; define RACI and foster a high-performance culture.Must-Have QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; professional certification (ACCA/CPA/SMMM) strongly preferred.Big Four audit experience (required) and 8–10+ years in financial control/consolidation within multinational groups.Deep knowledge of IFRS and practical exposure to OHADA/SYSCOHADA; working familiarity with US GAAP (policy bridging, disclosure impacts).Proven experience managing multi-jurisdiction reporting and tax pack alignment (West & North Africa preferred).Hands-on with ERP and consolidation systems; advanced Excel.Track record in internal controls, audit leadership, and balance-sheet integrity.Fluent English (written/spoken); strong stakeholder and deadline management skills.Preferred QualificationsFrench working proficiency.Sector background in mining/energy/industrial environments.Direct coordination with local tax/financial advisors and authorities in African jurisdictions.
