Job DescriptionDepartment OverviewThe Intellectual Property Department of Rakuten Group, Inc. is a specialized division responsible for formulating and executing IP strategies for over 70 services provided by the group. We closely collaborate with various departments to support the achievement of business units' management principles and overall strategies through our IP strategies. By protecting, managing, and leveraging intellectual property, we enhance the competitive strength of Rakuten Group and drive business growth.PositionWhy We HireWe are seeking those who can plan, propose and promote systemization of IP management processes toward improvement using the IP management system.Position Details Analysis of IP management processes (particularly those related to patent application, prosecution and maintenance), identification of issues, consideration of solutions and implementation into the system Project management necessary for these tasks Administrative tasks related to IP managementWork EnvironmentIntellectual Property Department ( approximately . 30 members)Mandatory QualificationsNative-level Japanese proficiencyThose who meet both of the following criteria Experience (3 years or more) and knowledge in procedures related to application, prosecution and maintenance of IP rights at a company or patent firm Experience participating in system development projects, or, if lacking such experience, those who wish to sell their knowledge, interest and/or willingness in IT and systemsDesired Qualifications Experience or knowledge in procedures for patent in various countries (Japan, US, Europe, India, Singapore etc.)Experience or knowledge not only for patent, but also for design and/or trademark is preferred Experience in implementation and operation of IP management systems (particularly ANAQUA) Experience in considering implementation of user requirements into system(s) in system development Experience as leader in system development projects Experience or knowledge in software development (Power Automate, VBA, Microsoft Access, SQL etc.)Note that we will assign you appropriate tasks depending on whether your skills are oriented to administrative tasks or system administration tasks.Others InformationAdditional information on LocationRakuten Crimson House (Tokyo)#corporate #legal #IP #audit #operationdivLanguagesJapanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
