Group Senior Accountant

Role:AltGen is seeking a Group Senior Accountant to oversee the financial management, accounting operations, and reporting for a renewable energy company based in Cape Town. The role will collaborate with multiple teams to drive performance and ensure effective financial oversight.Responsibilities: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accurate reportingPrepare, manage, and monitor budgets across various projects and departmentsManage tax compliance for foreign currencies, including reporting and paymentsCapture and reconcile month-end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completenessOversee invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processesManage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimal financial performancePrepare financial statements and reports for management and stakeholdersSupport ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as requiredEnsure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldProfessional registration with SAIPA is requiredMinimum 4–6 years of accounting experience, with exposure to group-level accounting preferredPrevious experience in the renewable energy sector is essentialStrong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax regulationsExperience managing foreign currency transactions and multi-country operations is advantageousProficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
