Company DescriptionMaxAB is re-engineering Africa's informal retail sector through a B2B e-commerce and fintech super app. Since launching in 2018, we've connected over 150,000 traditional retailers with suppliers, delivering 2.5+ million orders across Egypt and Morocco. Our fintech business now generates more revenue than e-commerce, with over $180 million in sales last year. Following our merger with Wasoko, we're expanding across Sub-Saharan Africa. We're now looking for a Growth & Retention Manager to help us unlock the next phase of sustainable, user-driven growth across Egypt, Morocco, and Kenya. If you thrive in high-impact environments, love solving complex retention challenges, and want to leave a continental footprint, we want to hear from you.What You’ll DoOwn key retention metrics Across Markets Own D30+ usage, M1/M6 retention, churn, LTV, and product stickiness across ordering and payments in Egypt, Morocco, and Kenya Develop merchant segmentation frameworks accounting for shop size, geography, order frequency, payment behavior, and credit usage Identify and scale high-retention cohorts in each market Drive cross-product engagement: moving merchants from ordering-only to ordering + payments + credit Product-Led Growth Strategy Partner with Product to build features that create daily habits for shop owners Design re-engagement strategies including gamified experiences, business growth programs, and community features Build retention loops across ordering and payments products Drive adoption across FMCGs, wholesalers, transfers, credit, cash-in/cash-out, bill payments, and acceptanceCross-Market Experimentation Design and execute A/B tests to increase order frequency, basket size, and payment transaction volume Build testing frameworks across diverse merchant landscapes and marketsIdentify retention drivers in each market and scale appropriately Partner with VP of Growth on experimentation roadmap Lifecycle Marketing & Automation Collaborate with CRM and Operations to design automated campaigns via SMS, WhatsApp, in-app, and field salesCreate personalized flows: onboarding, product activation, win-back, upsell/cross-sellDevelop strategies for varying digital literacy and connectivity constraintsIncorporate field operations feedback into retention strategies Pan-African Playbook Development Document best practices, segmentation models, and campaign templates for replicationBuild frameworks distinguishing universal principles from market-specific adaptationsEnable country teams to launch programs independently Create knowledge-sharing system for rapid deployment of winning strategies What We’re Looking For4-6 years in Growth, Lifecycle, or Product Marketing at high-growth startupsExperience in B2B commerce or fintech (preferably in MENA/Africa)Expert in growth metrics, cohort analysis, A/B testing Strong in analytics (SQL, Mixpanel/Amplitude)Understanding of gamification and behavioral psychology
