Job Description

MoneyGram Online is growing rapidly across markets and channels. We’re looking for a Director, Growth Strategy & Operations to own our global market-expansion and growth-execution agenda. You’ll identify the next markets to win, define the strategies to unlock them, and drive alignment across marketing, product, pricing, payments, and fraud.This is a highly visible, cross-functional role reporting directly to the EVP & GM of MGO. You’ll combine structured strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership — turning analysis into action and ensuring that every pod is rowing in the same direction.What You’ll DoMarket Strategy & PlanningBuild and maintain a quarterly market portfolio view: market size, competition, pricing gaps, payment coverage, conversion bottlenecks, and regulatory readiness.Recommend the next set of focus corridors and define what “unlocking” them means in measurable terms.Partner with Analytics, Marketing, Pricing, Product, and Fraud to translate strategy into clear quarterly goals and forecasts.Develop corridor-specific business cases, growth models, and scenario plans.Operational Leadership & ExecutionRun the cross-functional operating rhythm: quarterly market reviews, weekly progress check-ins, and blocker removal.Work with each Product pod owner to align to the agreed market priorities and identified customer friction.Serve as a connector and consultant to each team — keeping them grounded in local market dynamics and customer behavior.Track and communicate progress to senior leadership, with clear metrics, risks, and recommendations.Analytics & Financial OwnershipPartner with analytics to size opportunities, monitor performance, and update forecasts.Understand and influence the MGO P&L: take rate, COGS, CAC, LTV, and corridor contribution margins.Identify high-ROI bets for incremental investment and resource allocation.Team LeadershipManage an analyst to support quantitative analysis, dashboards, and research.Model cross-functional collaboration and accountability through influence rather than hierarchy.What You Bring8+ years of experience in consumer fintech, digital financial services, or a high-growth marketplace or appDeep exposure to international growth, performance marketing, and product development.Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and deliver measurable business outcomes.Strong analytical toolkit (SQL / Looker or equivalent) and comfort working with large datasets.Financial literacy — understands unit economics, cohort analysis, contribution margins, and investment trade-offs.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; can distill complexity into crisp narrative.A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment without direct authority.Bonus: familiarity with pay-in/pay-out systems, PSPs, APMs, and regulatory environments in remittance corridors.What Success Looks LikeClear, data-driven market prioritization process adopted by all pods.Quarterly corridor unlocks delivered on plan, with measurable performance lifts (auth rates, KYC pass, conversion, retention, take rate).Improved alignment and cadence across functional teams.Tangible contribution to MGO revenue and profitability growth.
