If you have a passion for hospitality and strive to provide excellent service to guests, look no further than The Admiral!What We Have To OfferLOCATION: 251 Government Street Mobile, AL 36602SALARY: $14.50 per hourBenefitsA culture that values passion, individuality, and fun!Opportunities for internal growth and developmentPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid holidaysAffordable medical, dental, & vision insurance plansCompany provided life insuranceShort & Long Term Disability and Accident and Critical Illness InsuranceTraditional 401(k) & Roth 401(k) with employer matching of up to 3.5%Referral programEmployee Assistance ProgramDiscounts at all Avocet-owned hotels & restaurantsPosition SummaryWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:The Guest Service Representative is responsible for greeting, registering, and checking guests out of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesGreets all guests in a pleasant and professional mannerCompletes the guest registration and check-out proceduresAnswers telephone, transfers calls, and takes messages when applicableMakes hotel reservations for guests, including changes and cancellationsFollows proper credit card proceduresMaintains accurate bank during shift and uses correct vouchers for specified transactionsVerify and drop cash postings from the worked shiftResponds to all guest needs and requests in a timely fashionFollow-up to ensure guest requests have been responded to appropriately and to guest satisfactionUnderstands hotel service and programsKnowledgeable of geographical area and points of interestFiles appropriate paperwork as directedEnsure the front desk is adequately stocked of all suppliesUnderstands hotel emergency procedures and evacuation protocolsCollects payment for all guests at check-in and check-out. Makes changes as necessaryKeeps Front Office and Lobby area neat, clean, vacuumed, and dusted dailyFollow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to managerEnsure uniform and personal appearance is neat, clean, and professionalMaintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assetsSpeak with others using clear and professional languageEstablishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and fellow management team members.Perform all reasonable job duties as requested.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMaintain safety and security at the front desk postEducationJOB REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferredExperienceOne year of prior hotel guest service experience preferredPrior guest relations trainingSkillsSignificant attention to detail.Ability to operate front desk equipment: computer, switchboard, credit card machines, etc.Understanding of basic math skillsGood verbal and guest interaction skillsCollect money and issue change where applicableAbility to work as a cohesive team member - relaying information appropriately from shift to shiftWorking ConditionsThe working conditions described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
