Job Description

Haus of Portraiture is a premier fine art portrait studio based in Santa Monica, known for creating powerful, custom legacy artwork that celebrates families, individuals, and milestones. As we expand into our second location, we're seeking a dedicated, results-driven People & Performance Manager to help us build, scale, and empower a high-performing team across both studios. This role goes beyond traditional HR. As our People & Performance Manager, you'll be the central force in hiring, onboarding, culture-building, and driving team accountability.

You'll work closely with leadership to ensure that every departmentand every employeeis aligned with company goals, hitting KPIs, and thriving in their role. Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources & Talent OperationsOversee all hiring efforts:

job postings, interviews, onboarding, and orientationManage employee records, contracts, and complianceCreate and implement training materials for new hires and ongoing staff developmentHandle employee relations and ensure a positive, high-performing work cultureLead exit interviews and offboarding processes professionally and constructivelyPerformance & KPI ManagementCollaborate with leadership to establish clear KPIs for each department and employeeTrack, report, and optimize performance data on a weekly and monthly basisHold team members accountable to expectations in a supportive and professional mannerLead monthly performance reviews and strategy meetings with department headsOperational SupportMonitor and support day-to-day studio operations related to staffing and workflowHelp create systems that support consistent client experiences across both locationsAssist in the rollout of company-wide initiatives and culture programsQualifications35+ years of HR, Operations, or People Management experience (studio/creative business a plus)Strong understanding of KPIs, performance tracking, and accountability systemsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skillsHighly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detailEmotionally intelligent, proactive, and comfortable holding others to a high standardWhat We OfferA mission-driven, artistic work environmentOpportunity to shape culture and growth across both studiosCompetitive pay + performance-based incentivesOpportunities for career development and advancementA passionate team that values creativity, professionalism, and excellence
