JOB DESCRIPTIONHead of BrokerageCOUNTRY – GHANAWORK TYPE – FULL TIME - PERMANENT JOB TITLE:Head of BrokerageJOB GRADE:WORKING ENVIRONMENT:OfficeLOCATION: ACCRA - GHANAREPORTS DIRECTLY TO:General Manager / CEO1. JOB PURPOSE:The Head of Brokerage is responsible for leading the brokerage division, overseeing trading activities, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires strong leadership, market expertise, and strategic vision to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance the company’s reputation in the financial markets.2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES● Technical/Operations duties1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth● Develop and implement strategies to grow the brokerage business in line with company objectives.● Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand client base and market share.● Establish and maintain strong relationships with institutional and retail investors.● Lead the development of innovative brokerage products and services.2. Trading & Market Operations● Oversee and manage equity and fixed income trading operations.● Monitor market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes to advise clients and inform trading decisions.● Ensure the execution of trades aligns with best practices and regulatory requirements.● Supervise the brokerage team to enhance trading efficiency and client service.3. Compliance & Risk Management● Ensure full compliance with Ghana’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and other relevant regulatory bodies.● Develop and enforce risk management policies to mitigate operational and market risks.● Maintain high ethical standards and ensure best execution practices in all trading activities.4. Client Relationship Management● Build and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, and corporate clients.● Provide market insights, investment strategies, and tailored financial solutions to clients.● Oversee client onboarding and ensure exceptional service delivery.5. Team Leadership & Development● Recruit, train, and mentor brokerage staff to enhance performance and professional growth.● Set performance targets and ensure the team meets revenue and operational goals.● Foster a high-performance culture within the brokerage team.1. Business Growth & Revenue Generation● Achievement of annual revenue and profitability targets.● Growth in client base (institutional and retail investors).● Increase in assets under management (AUM) or transaction volume.● Market share expansion within the brokerage industry.2. Trading & Market Performance● Execution efficiency (speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of trades).● Volume and value of trades executed.● Client trade execution satisfaction rate.● Adherence to best execution policies and market trends analysis.3. Compliance & Risk Management● Zero or minimal regulatory breaches and penalties.● Timely submission of compliance reports to regulatory bodies.● Effectiveness of internal risk management frameworks.● Number of successful regulatory audits with no major findings.4. Client Relationship & Satisfaction● Client retention rate and repeat business.● Customer satisfaction scores and feedback.● Growth in high-net-worth and institutional client relationships.● Timely resolution of client queries and complaints.5. Team Performance & Leadership● Achievement of team sales and revenue targets.● Employee retention and engagement levels within the brokerage unit.● Training and development programs implemented for staff.● Performance appraisal scores of team members.6. Market Position & Brand Development● Participation in industry events and financial market discussions.● Brand recognition and reputation within the investment community.● Number of strategic partnerships or collaborations formed.3 COMPETENCIES 1. Strong leadership and strategic thinking.2. Excellent knowledge of equity and fixed income markets.3. Proven ability to drive business growth and profitability.4. Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.5. High level of integrity and adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.6.
