We’re driven by progress and thrive on the challenge of relentless improvement.About The RoleAs the Head of Environmental care (EC) for Expansion, you will play a pivotal role in driving commercial strategy, shaping the future of Dyson’s global range of temperature and air management products, and delivering exceptional product and campaign execution to our global markets. EC is expanding into new territories and you’ll be at the forefront.Reporting to the Director, Environmental Care Business unit, you will own the sub-category strategy, ensuring a strong, consumer-driven portfolio that meets market needs and drives commercial success. From shaping global launch plans to optimising lifecycle performance, you will oversee every aspect of the category’s commercial journey, ensuring that we revitalise, maintain and grow our leadership.To achieve this, you will collaborate across Dyson – partnering with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Revenue and Market teams – ensuring the commercial voice is at the heart of our decision-making. You will act as a strategic advocate for Environmental care within Dyson, leveraging market insights, competitive analysis, and consumer trends to drive innovation, engagement, and growth.Key responsibilitiesStrategic leadership Category strategy: Develop and articulate the long-term vision for the category, outlining priorities for innovation, market positioning, and portfolio optimisation. Portfolio management: Own the lifecycle plan for the category, from early-stage concepts through to end-of-life, ensuring alignment with Dyson’s broader strategic goals. Market analysis: Provide actionable insights into market dynamics, competitor activity, and consumer behaviours to inform product, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. Innovation pipeline: Work closely with RDD (Discovery, Delivery and the Portfolio team) to identify new opportunities and integrate both upcoming and emerging technologies into the category roadmap. Internal Advocacy: Be a voice for EC internally, working closely across functions to energise and enable teams to achieve the 5 year vision.Commercial excellence Launch planning: Lead global launch strategies, ensuring flawless execution across channels and markets. Pricing recommendations: Develop multi-year pricing recommendations that balance profitability, competitive positioning, and market-specific needs. Claims and messaging: Craft compelling, evidence-based product claims and initial proposition messaging that resonate with consumers and differentiate Dyson in the market. Go-to-market (GTM) strategy: Drive tailored GTM strategies for the category, integrating insights from channel dynamics, consumer profiles, and market conditions.Performance management Forecasting and financial modelling: Own long-term volume forecasting for the category, partnering with Finance to shape business case and investment recommendations. Campaign impact: Oversee campaign delivery and review post-launch performance, embedding learnings into future strategies to optimise outcomes. Portfolio optimisation: Regularly evaluate the portfolio to ensure a balance of complexity and market coverage, driving efficiency and growth optimising for both consumer needs and commercial results.Collaboration and communication Cross-functional partnering: Act as a key interface between Engineering, Operations, and the wider EC team, ensuring alignment and efficient delivery of category objectives. Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Dyson, driving alignment on business cases and priorities. Team leadership: Inspire and guide cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring alignment on category goals.About You Strategic communication: Able to synthesize complex information into compelling, actionable stories. Stakeholder alignment: Proven ability to build consensus across diverse interests and influence senior leaders. Collaboration: Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills, creating strong networks across Dyson. Adaptability: Open to change and able to flex plans based on business needs and market conditions. Proven experience in a senior commercial, product, category, or portfolio management role, ideally in a consumer product or technology-driven environment. A strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and category management principles. Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of delivering impactful insights and recommendations. Ability to manage complex projects and work effectively in a global, matrixed organization. Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and driving cross functional alignment.
