Through it all, we’re committed to protecting what matters and empowering people to do their best work, safely.Mō te tūranga | What you’ll be doing As Head of Cybersecurity, you’ll shape and deliver our cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring our operations remain secure, resilient and aligned with our business goals and regulatory obligations. You’ll own some controls and provide oversight and assurance of all other controls across Meridian’s digital estate, enabling secure and resilient operations while ensuring alignment with business risk appetite, regulatory obligations and strategic goals. Leading a team of talented cybersecurity professionals, you’ll foster a positive security culture that keeps our people and technology safe and secure, with cybersecurity actively adopted and practiced at all levels of Meridian. Ngā pukenga kei a koe mō tenei tūranga | What you’ll bring Extensive experience in cybersecurity strategy, governance, and risk management within complex enterprise or critical infrastructure environments. Proven ability to engage effectively at board and executive level, translating cyber risk into business impact and vice versa, shaping enterprise-wide risk decisions. Skilled in leading and developing high-performing teams. Demonstrated experience in leading first or second-line risk management functions, and the ability to provide independent perspective, assurance and advice. Strong knowledge of regulatory and standards frameworks (e.g. PCI-DSS,NIST CSF, AESCSF, ISO 27001), and their application across hybrid and federated models. Experience in implementing and managing security technology controls, tools and processes. Sound knowledge of human-centred cybersecurity is desired – understanding and integrating human behaviour, psychology, and interaction into cybersecurity strategies and practices. Ability to operate credibly across technical, business, and governance domains. Relevant qualifications or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
