Job Description

Job Summary:The RoleAs Head of Legal – Financial Institutions, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory affairs related to our work with EMIs, PIs, MSBs, banks, and other licensed entities. You’ll act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, lead licensing projects, and ensure our operations and client projects meet the highest legal and compliance standards.You will also collaborate closely with internal teams such as Compliance, Finance, and Business Development to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions.Key Responsibilities· Lead the legal function for Company’s Financial Institutions division.· Oversee multi-jurisdictional licensing applications and regulatory engagements for EMIs, PIs, Canadian MSBs, and other financial entities.· Advise clients and internal teams on PSD2, MiCA, AML/CTF, Canadian FINTRAC regulations, and other relevant frameworks.· Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including client agreements, banking arrangements, and partnership deals.· Ensure corporate governance and compliance best practices are implemented across all projects.· Monitor global regulatory developments and assess their impact on clients and the company.· Manage relationships with regulators, banking partners, and external counsel.· Provide strategic input on M&A transactions and structural changes involving licensed entities.Requirements· Qualified lawyer with 4+ years post-qualification experience in banking, fintech, payments, or financial services regulation.· Proven expertise in licensing and compliance for EMIs, PIs, and Canadian MSBs.· Strong understanding of EU and international financial regulations, including PSD2, AMLD, and related frameworks.· Experience liaising with regulators and managing cross-border projects.· Exceptional negotiation and drafting skills.· Commercial mindset with the ability to align legal strategy to business objectives.· Leadership skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.What We OfferCompetitive remuneration aligned with experience and expertiseComprehensive medical coverage under the company’s healthcare schemeProvident fund eligibility upon successful completion of probationEarly Friday finish to kickstart your weekendComplimentary snacks, breakfast, and beverages available dailyEngaging team-building activities and corporate eventsA pivotal role within a dynamic, fast-growing global fintech leaderGlobal exposure through a diverse network of banking and payment partnersOpportunities to lead and contribute to high-impact merchant accounts and strategic initiatives
