Head of Infrastructure

Our clients are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of IT Infrastructure to lead a diverse team of infrastructure professionals across the UK and EU. This is a leadership and delegation-focused role, not hands-on, and requires someone who can manage delivery, challenge technical decisions, and drive innovation across infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team, including: Project Managers, Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers (UK & EU)Oversee infrastructure project delivery across multiple regionsCollaborate with C-level stakeholders and business units to align IT strategy with business goalsEvaluate and challenge proposed technical solutions and changes from the teamEnsure robust planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades and transformationsMaintain oversight of budgets, costs, and resource allocationRegular travelTechnical EnvironmentWhile not hands-on, the candidate must be able to speak confidently about and challenge decisions related to:On-Premise InfrastructureVirtualization: Citrix, VMwareActive Directory, Exchange, Windows ServerSCCM and related enterprise toolsCandidate ProfileProven leadership experience in IT infrastructure across multi-site teamsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsAbility to challenge and guide technical teams constructivelyComfortable with budget management and strategic planningIndustry background is flexible – transferable IT leadership skills are keyWillingness to travel and engage with teams across regions
