Head of Consumer Marketing – High Growth Consumer MarketplacePackage - up to £85k + 20% Berkshire / UK (Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 remote)JD&CO is partnering with a profitable, scaling consumer marketplace backed by leading investors. Following strong growth and a full brand repositioning underway, the business is hiring its first Head of Consumer Marketing, a hands-on, multi-channel marketer who can turn strategy into action and build a category defining consumer engine.We’re looking for a doer strategist hybrid: someone who can shape the plan, write the brief, build the content, manage the channels, and get things moving quickly, before scaling a team around them.The BriefAs Head of Consumer Marketing, you’ll own the direct growth engine end-to-end, audience insight, brand messaging, social/content, CRM, and consumer activation.You'll step into a lean team and a blank sheet opportunity: strong appetite for change, clear strategic direction, and leadership ready to back bold ideas. This is a role for someone excited to build, test, iterate and move fast.Key ResponsibilitiesLead consumer brand marketing, messaging, tone of voice, content, and storytelling across all channels.Build and execute social and content strategy (organic + paid) from scratch.Develop CRM and lifecycle programmes that nurture, educate, and convert users.Work closely with performance channels (paid search, paid social) to deliver coherent full-funnel growth.Shape and optimise customer journeys across owned channels and touchpoints.Brief, manage and collaborate with agencies and partners across brand, digital and creative.Use data to drive decision making, defining success metrics, tracking KPIs and running experiments.Partner cross functionally with product, commercial and marketplace teams to drive consumer understanding and conversion.Play a foundational role in growing the consumer marketing function and future team structure.You Must BringStrong experience in B2C/consumer marketing, ideally from a marketplace, D2C or high-growth digital brand.Hands on depth in brand, social, content, CRM and digital channels.Excellent copywriting and the ability to craft compelling, trust-building consumer messaging.Proven ability to turn strategy into execution, you’re genuinely comfortable rolling up your sleeves.Commercial mindset and confidence working with targets, KPIs and measurement frameworks.Experience collaborating with small, sharp teams and agency partners.Comfortable in a fast moving, build phase environment where you own your function end-to-end.Marketplace experience or experience marketing to family decision makers is a bonus, not a requirement.Why This Is CompellingProfitable, investor backed marketplace with clear product market fit.Major appetite for brand, content and channel transformation, your impact will be visible quickly.Blank sheet opportunity to build consumer marketing foundations from day one.Hands on role with future team growth built in.Hybrid working: 3 days office, 2 remote.Competitive package and strong leadership support.Finally…This is a targeted search.
