As an educator in our Secondary School, you will play a key role in supporting the development of our boys as you engage with them in areas beyond the classroom.The roleApplications are currently invited from experienced and/or aspirational leaders to join our Secondary School teaching and learning team in the position of Head of PE, Health, Wellbeing & RE Faculty, Years 7-12.Commencing January 2026 (or later by negotiation), you will be responsible for ensuring an ongoing focus on the science of learning, a knowledge-rich curriculum and the support and development of your staff. As a Head of Faculty, you will ensure a focus on strategic goals in regard to student achievement, teacher engagement and performance.In addition to the role of Head of Faculty, you will also have a teaching load commensurate with the position. Note: an ongoing teaching contract will be offered to the successful applicant. The position of responsibility will be offered on a tenured basis for four years in accordance with our policy.Key result areasThis broad leadership position includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:Oversee the quality of instruction for the faculty, with a focus on the Science of Learning and Rosenshine’s principles of Instruction.Manage the human resources for the faculty, including tasks such as chairing regular team meetings, managing staff, classroom visits, ensuring administration is conducted in an efficient and timely manner, dealing with interpersonal issues affecting the team, working with curriculum leaders to deal with parent concerns and performance issues.Ensure the required curriculum documentation, based on the Understanding by Design framework, is complete and accurate.Ensure the assessments are valid, authentic and reported appropriately. Manage the physical resources for the faculty, including budgets, classroom equipment, capital forecasts, technology requirements and appropriate resources as requested by others in the faculty.For a more in depth understanding of the position, please refer to the position description.Why work for us?
