Head of Platform Location: Berlin (Hybrid)Salary: Up to €130,000A high-growth technology organisation is looking for a seasoned engineering leader to take ownership of its platform and infrastructure engineering function. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, operations, and team leadership — shaping how the engineering platform supports business scale, reliability and innovation.What You’ll DoOwn the technical vision and roadmap for the organisation’s platform engineering and infrastructure capabilities.Lead a team responsible for platform services, infrastructure, SRE/DevOps practices, CI/CD, monitoring, and reliability.Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, performant and aligned to business needs; drive key metrics (SLAs, SLOs, system availability).Bridge the gap between product development teams and operational excellence — you’ll be both strategic and hands-on.Architect, review and influence infrastructure decisions,cloud, containerisation, Kubernetes, multi-region, high-scale systems.Drive improvements in developer experience, tooling, automation, observability, incident response and technical debt management.Partner with senior stakeholders (CTO, product leads, business heads) to align engineering strategy with commercial goals.Mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers, building a high-performance, resilient team culture.What You’ll BringExtensive software/engineering leadership experience significant responsibility for platform, infrastructure or SRE teams.Demonstrated track record architecting and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure and platform services (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, etc.).Experience with the backend using GolangStrong ability to navigate technical decisions, trade-offs, and implement practical solutions in complex environments.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — able to translate technical challenges into business impact.Hands-on mindset with a willingness to “get your hands dirty” as needed; you don’t just manage, you lead by example.Experience in mentoring and building high-performing teams, creating a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.Why Accept This Role?High-visibility leadership opportunity where your operational and strategic decisions directly influence business growth and platform performance.Scope to build and refine the engineering platform as a foundation for future innovation, scale and reliability.Flexible working model (remote/hybrid) plus the chance to work across engineering, product and business functions.Join a forward-thinking organisation that values bold technical leadership, practical execution and measurable results.
