Job Description

We’re looking for a strategic and dynamic leader to shape sector-leading approaches to student engagement and communications at the University of Southampton.Based within the Student Experience Directorate, you will lead a talented team that ensures students are well-informed, feel a strong sense of belonging, and are empowered to co-create their experience from enrolment to graduation.You will provide strategic oversight of student communications, co-design approaches, and institutional work on student voice and survey engagement, including the National Student Survey (NSS).Working Collaboratively Across The University, You WillLead the design and delivery of multi-channel student engagement campaigns across the full student lifecycle.Champion co-design and student voice, embedding student feedback into institutional decision-making.Ensure communications are clear, inclusive, accessible, and aligned to the University’s strategic priorities.Use data, insight and analytics to evaluate impact and drive continuous improvement.Build strong relationships with senior leaders, Faculties and Professional Services to deliver joined-up, student-centred outcomes.Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team focused on innovation, collaboration and excellence.We’re seeking an experienced communications or engagement professional who brings: A strong understanding of student experience and lifecycle engagement.Proven success leading teams and delivering high-impact campaigns or initiatives.The ability to build trust, influence and collaborate across complex organisations.A creative and analytical mindset, confident in using data and insight to shape strategy.A passion for inclusion, co-creation and outstanding student experiences.At Southampton, we’re ambitious for our students and our community.
