Job SummaryThe Head of Used Car Sales will lead the used vehicle sales department, driving revenue growth through strategic oversight of sales planning, sales operations, sales strategy to optimize the customer experience. This senior role requires a proven track record in automotive sales leadership, with a focus on maximizing profitability, inventory turnover, and market expansion in the competitive used car sector. Reporting to the Operational Director, you will spearhead initiatives to enhance sales performance while ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering a high-performing team culture.Job Descriptions:Oversee all aspects of used car sales operations, including inventory acquisition, pricing strategies, and sales forecasting to achieve annual targets.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales professionals, conducting performance evaluations and implementing training programs to boost productivity.Collaborate with marketing and finance teams to develop promotional campaigns and financing options that drive customer traffic and conversions.Analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine sales tactics, ensuring the dealership remains competitive in the used vehicle market.Manage relationships with vendors and auction houses for optimal vehicle sourcing, negotiating deals to maintain high-quality inventory at cost-effective prices.Implement customer relationship management (CRM) systems to track leads, follow-ups, and post-sale satisfaction, aiming for repeat business and referrals.Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in all sales activities, including accurate vehicle disclosures and fair lending practices.Prepare and present monthly sales reports to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and opportunities for growth.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.At least have 7 years of experience in automotive sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within used car operations. ATPM experience is preferred.Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a high-volume dealership environment.Strong knowledge of used vehicle valuation tools and market dynamics.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience in team building and conflict resolution.Proficiency in sales software, CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
