Join Our Growing Team at TownmoreTownmore is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Health & Safety Officer to support the safe delivery of construction projects across our growing portfolio, including residential apartments, commercial offices, educational facilities, and life sciences builds.As a key member of the site and project team, you will lead on all health, safety, environmental, and compliance matters—ensuring that our worksites operate to the highest standards. You will collaborate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and our senior HSEQ function to embed a culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement.This role offers a strong platform for career development within a team that values leadership, innovation, and operational excellence in Health & Safety.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Oversight & Risk ManagementLead site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks across active project sites.Identify potential risks, hazards, and unsafe conditions, ensuring timely mitigation.Conduct risk assessments, method statement reviews, and support pre-task planning.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure full compliance with all statutory H&S regulations and company procedures.Maintain and update site-specific safety documentation, including RAMS, safety statements, incident reports, and audit findings.Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviours, and develop corrective action plans.Training & Safety CultureDeliver safety inductions, training, and ongoing H&S briefings for site personnel and subcontractors.Champion a positive safety culture on-site through coaching, leadership, and active engagement with site teams.Support the upskilling and mentoring of junior safety officers where applicable.Coordination & CommunicationWork closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, and the central HSEQ team to ensure consistent safety standards across all sites.Liaise with external auditors, insurers, and regulatory bodies as required.Attend site meetings and contribute to project safety planning and performance reporting.RequirementsNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 8 H&S qualification (Construction Safety preferred).Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a construction Health & Safety role (main contractor experience preferred).In-depth knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and construction regulations.Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills.Experience with site inspections, incident investigations, and audit processes.Ability to work autonomously and manage H&S priorities across multiple live sites.Valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling, CIF Safety Officer qualification or equivalent.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, HammerTech or other HSEQ platforms is an advantage.What We OfferA competitive salary and attractive benefits package.Strong career progression within a company that champions safety and compliance.Exposure to diverse, complex projects in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.A supportive team culture that values continuous learning and professional development.Regular CPD opportunities and access to the latest health & safety training and best practices.If you’re a dedicated Health & Safety professional ready to make a lasting impact and drive excellence across our project portfolio, Townmore is the place for you.📧 Apply today: careers@townmore.ie
