Job Description

To provide high quality of care to all patients. Supporting and assisting all members of the multidisciplinary team and working to ensure that Birmingham Women’s is the best place to be cared for. To maintain at all times a caring and professional attitude towards the needs of patients. To liaise closely with medical and nursing staff and medical secretaries, to ensure clinics are conducted effectively and efficiently. Rotation to other departments within Gynaecology may be required.This job outline highlights the main areas of reasonability for the post and it is not exhaustive. It is expected that on line with the development of the trust, additional responsibilities that are commensurate to the role will be added to this role outline to reflect the changing environment of the trust as an NHS organisation.The role will include:-To set up clinical rooms daily/sessions for clinics appropriatelyTo check equipment prior to clinics commencing.To assist in the daily cleaning and preparation of equipment and the processing of dirty equipment and linen disposal correctly.Assist the department manager in ensuring stock levels are maintained.Chaperone nurses and doctors as required with examinations and minor procedures, support patientthroughout the procedure emotionally.Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is the first of its type in the UK.
