This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with legislation, eliminating risks, and fostering a safety-first culture that supports our business strategy and growth.Reporting to the Head of Operations, this full-time role will suit a high performing health and safety professional who seeks the opportunity to lead the SMC ANZ group to ensure WHS&E compliance and ability to foster a culture of safety and accountability. Your expertise will be highly valued in the provision of safety advice and support from partnering with senior leadership and influencing all levels of the business in the implementation of WHS&E strategy, systems, policies, procedures and programs. About the roleLead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies, systems, and procedures.Provide expert advice on HSE legislation, psychosocial hazards, high-risk tasks, and incident investigations.Deliver impactful HSE training programs to build frontline leadership capability.Drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement through audits, feedback, and committee participation.Manage incident investigations, risk assessments, and workers’ compensation cases.Maintain accurate HSE records and provide timely reporting.About youYou are a confident communicator and strategic thinker with:10+ years of HSE management experience.Proven success in gaining ISO45001 and ISO14001 certification.Experience in manufacturing environments and distributed teams.Strong knowledge of AU & NZ HSE legislation.Expertise in training delivery, incident investigation, and software solutions like MANGO.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Safety & Environment, plus auditing and assessment credentials.Our benefits:Join a globally respected brand and market leader with highly skilled technical and people managers across 10 locations in both Australia & New ZealandInclusive and supportive team environmentCompetitive remuneration and employer paid insurance benefits within the company superannuation planFocus on employee Wellbeing & Employee Assistance Programs
