Health & Safety Coordinator

DescriptionDue to internal promotion, we have a new opportunity to join our Health & Safety team! In this position, you’ll play a key role in developing and implementing return-to-work plans, ensuring team members feel supported, valued, and confident as they re-enter the workplace. You’ll work closely with individuals recovering from injury or illness, liaising with internal leaders, medical providers, and insurers to create smooth, tailored transitions. You will be a part of a busy and fast-paced environment supporting critical day-to-day operations and delivering on key projects. This full-time role is key to the Followmont network and would suit a motivated and enthusiastic professional with demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.What You’ll Be DoingCoordinate and manage return-to-work (RTW) programs for injured or unwell team members.Act as a key point of contact for employees, offering support and guidance throughout the RTW process.Liaise with treating health professionals, rehabilitation providers, and insurance reps to ensure effective and timely recovery plans.Monitor progress and adjust RTW plans as needed, always keeping the wellbeing of the employee front and centre.Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.Contribute to a positive safety culture through proactive initiatives and clear communication.Identifying and contributing to safety improvements and safety programsTake part in the research and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), focusing on documenting operational tasks with all safety considerations identifiedSupport team with regular emergency response training and annual ‘Evacuation’ exercises throughout the company QualificationsQualificationsExposure to a similar environment with a background in Health & Safety is preferredPrevious experience within the transportation industry is highly regardedExcellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a high attention to detailWorking towards Certificate IV Health & Safety or other qualification is desirableWhat’s In It For YouCareer Progression: Opportunities to grow your skills and move within the team or the businessTraining & Support: Job-specific training with in-house trainers and ongoing supportEmployee Recognition: Be rewarded for your hard work through our employee recognition programEmployee Benefits Program: Workplace Benefits Program providing discounts to many major retailersHealth Fund Discounts: Enjoy reduced rates on single or family health cover with Medibank Private.Wellbeing Programs: Free access to the Employee Assistance Program, Mental Wellbeing Program, and Workplace Banking ProgramWhat We’re Looking ForThis role is best suited to someone who thrives on collaboration, connection, and clear communication.
