USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub appUnder the direction of the nursing faculty, this position performs duties in the Health Sciences Simulation Center (HSSC) to support faculty in providing quality simulated learning experiences for students.Duties/ResponsibilitiesBoot up and shut down simulators, prepare and break down task trainers, simulation rooms and other equipment/props for simulation or skills lab sessions Operate a variety of computers and technical simulation equipment pertaining to simulation scenarios, including virtual reality software and equipmentControl simulator software to model simulator’s physiological response to instructor and/or scenario specificationsOperate and maintains audio-visual and debriefing systems during simulationsReset rooms in between sessions (restock, replenish supplies as needed) Maintain current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment and operation manualsClean equipment as needed (manikin, task trainers) Assist in development, and demonstration of instructional best practices for the use of the manikins and equipment to help elevate the simulation experiences of students and facultyProvide technical support for task trainers and multimedia peripherals, including:Vital sign monitorsIV pumps and feeding pumpsBeds/examination tables, headwalls, patient monitors, and other healthcare equipmentProvide theatrical production (costuming and moulage) for simulation scenarios as requestedProvide technical assistance and support to students, faculty, and staff in the use of simulation and skills lab equipment and softwareEnforce the safety and security of the simulation and skills labs according to established procedures, policies, and lawsEnsure that simulation and skills laboratories and other assigned areas are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly conditionWork with students during their sessions in HSSCFacilitate simulation-based experiences and activities in collaboration with nursing facultyAssist with laboratory needs including setup and cleanup for lab learning activities, manage lab supplies and provide overall student and faculty lab support Collaborate with nursing faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course objectivesPerforms other duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum Acceptable Education & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in NursingOrganizational skills and the ability to follow directionsDemonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversityStrong problem solving and critical thinking skillsFlexible and able to adapt to a dynamic environment based on changing policies, procedures and clinical needsAble to balance multiple tasks simultaneouslyRequired Licenses & CertificationsUnencumbered RN licenseKnowledge Skills & AbilitiesUnderstanding of nursing concepts and proceduresEffective communication and teamwork with faculty, staff, and studentsAbility to provide constructive feedback during simulations.Adaptability to respond to unexpected changes in simulation scenariosWillingness to learn new technologies and methodsPreferred Qualifications1-2 years of simulation experience, working with simulation in an educational institution or equivalent settingCertified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)Applicant InstructionsApplicants should be prepared to upload the following documents when applying online within the Resume/Cover Letter section of your application:Resume/CVThe University of New Hampshire is an R1 Carnegie classification research institution providing comprehensive, high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs of distinction.
