SummaryThe Designer will assist in the design and development of projects, will produce design presentation material, and will assist in the production and documentation of construction documents. This position is located in Los Angeles, California. The position requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays. Position ResponsibilitiesAssist in the documentation of project design in Revit such as three-dimensional modeling or material researchAssist in organization and generation of working drawings.

Support design team and ensure that the design intent is followed through all phasesAssist in development of project documents during all phases of the projectAssist in development of project marketing interview materialsAssist in all aspects of the plan check processApply accessibility codes to basic drawingsSupport the construction administration phase of a project by assisting in review of submittals, shop drawings, response to RFI's, and preparation of instruction bulletins for changesPrepare basic "block out" drawings with accuracy and thoroughness, (site plans, floor plans, exterior elevations, interior elevations) from design sketches, and pickup "red marks" prepared by supervisor.

Attend professional activities outside the officeEstimate hours for assigned tasks and finish tasks within agreed-upon budget hoursParticipate in office design charettesOther duties as assignedPosition RequirementsArchitectural degree from an accredited universityMinimum of one (1) year experience in architectural design preferredListen and communicate effectively and professionallyAsks questions about assignments when unclearAbility to set goals, prioritize, and plan work activities for self-management and use time efficientlyHas working knowledge and understanding for use of HMC equipment and softwareAbility to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing to give assignments to office support staff, consultants, and vendorsAbility to delegate assignments to support staff and always be respectfulBe proficient with HMC’s documentation and office practice systemsAbility to correspond effectively with Architects for Revit files and minor directivesAlways be professional and respectful in interactions with clients and consultantsDemonstrate motivation in seeking new responsibilities and challengesDemonstrate Revit competency in advance commands of editing requirements, drawings set up for any type of project, management and use of all Revit files and resolution of any related Revit issues on HMC Revit platformUnderstand the organization of the contract documentsPossess knowledge of drawing setup, layers, plotting/publishing, dimensions, blocks, attributes, purge/audit/recover, back up files, viewportsUnderstand technical terminology of the architectural and construction industryThe hourly range for this position is $23.

56 - $32. 06The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
