Job Description

Main Purpose:Responsible for providing full scope of HR services to line managers and employees, including, but not limited to, the following: Recruitment and selection. Including advertising, shortlisting, interviews, offer formulation, drafting of employment agreements, onboarding, , job descriptions, KPI setting and Performance Management; Management of Forecasting exercises and analysis of same and controlling of HR related costs on a month to month basis; Management of in-country EOY process, including but not limited to compensation and benefits proposals and the HR budgeting process and accountability for all budgetary spent in-country relating to staff costs and other HR related costs; Advising and facilitating Employment Relations, specifically advising on disciplinary matters, performance management and imposing of sanctions; Formulation and implementation of HR Policies and/or conditions of employment in country; Succession planning and talent management; Implementation of Global Policies to in-country teams and advising the business on same; Support transformation from a change and culture perspective through activities such as planning and designing and delivering communication plans, training development programs, talent management strategies and transition and transformation programs; Management of personnel records in WD (with assistance from Mumbai HRSS), control of WD data accuracy and Global and Regional HR metrics and management of payroll related activities (payroll input to Mumbai HRSS); Ensure that all Statutory provisions and Labour Laws are adhered to in Country; Facilitation of Union Negotiations and discussion and drafting of Collective Agreements; Analysis of actuals and forecasted budget and/or forecasts and providing feedback on same to relevant stakeholders; and Employee engagement, advising line managers and employees on HR matters and queries and managing terminations/exits.Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:Respond to HR requests from line managers and employees in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring matters are closed out in an effective manner.Timeously deal with HR queries. Manage all requests and queries and provide professional solutions thereto.Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters and organizational concerns.Analyzing and providing standard management reports regarding key HR metrics as set out by Regional HR (e.g. staff movement, leave, overtime etc.) to GM’s of respective countries and to Regional HR Lead.Provide best practice HR advice to line managers. Implementation of Policy in the business, developing staff to implement and ensure compliance with business processes and Policy.Provide direction and advice in the interpretation of Company policies and ensure application of standard practices. Draft new policies and procedures, as required, which is aligned with Global group policies.Ensure the development of an in-country Induction Program and that same is completed for all new recruits and ensure that new joiners’ forms are completed timeously and accurately and new hires are loaded on WD and communicated to Mumbai HRSS.Manage recruitment processes from start to end and provide a professional service to business. Ensure recruitment is completed with the 60-day time to hire metric set for the Africa Region and that the standard Recruitment process is followed and adhered to at all times with all required approvals as per DOA.Manage and guide the annual goal setting and end of year performance review process. Manage the merit and bonus year-end process for assigned countries.Ensure that all Employment Relation Matters are handled professionally and in line with local labour law requirements and advise business on local labour laws to ensure compliance to same.Draft Reports and ensure compliance with all Affirmative Action or BBBEE provisions and provide support on BBBEE HR matters (EE report submissions and management of EE targets), Skills Development Plan, ATR and WSP submission, graduate recruitment etc. Ensure submission of reports to relevant parties for obtaining of compliance certificates and periodical reporting.Implement Regional HR Road Map initiatives at country-level and ensure reporting on progress to targets.Ensure a proper training and development plan is developed in-country and that all training needs are identified for employees and that same is translated into development plans and training delivered.Manage the Talent and Succession Planning program for assigned countries.Champion the Puma values and HSE policy for in -country teams.Facilitate, arrange and plan Union Negotiations, drafting of all collective agreements and/wage agreements and ensure implementation of provisions thereof.Establish good relations with Union Teams for sound negotiations and drafting of disputes and processing of same through relevant bodies to ensure adherence to local laws and Union Agreements, advise business on processes to follow and best course of action relating to IR matters.Ensure that Staff Costs and HR budget spend is done in line with the approved budgets and the ability to analyse and provide feedback on actuals vs forecast vs budget.EOY budgeting process owner.Requirements:Experience:A Master’s degree in Human Resources is preferred with additional Finance subjects or related Financial degree being a distinct advantage;6 – 8 years’ experience in Senior HR management, preferably in a management role in an organization with more than 100 employees;Experience in handling full spectrum of HR matters and working with line managers;Experience as part of an Exco team;Computer literacy essential – Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word essential;Use of HR systems will be a distinct advantage.Skills:Ability to work in ways that achieve performance on goals set.Ability to embrace the changing business environment.Ability to willingly take the lead, when needed, and proactively manage HR matters.Ability to work with others to make a difference in the way in which HR is delivered to the business.Ability to make informed and effective decisions.Ability to draw up financial information for HR Budgets and ability to analyze same.Ability to create innovative solutions to business challenges.Ability to work under immense pressure with tight deadlines.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.Competencies:Organized.Ability to deal with difficult situations.Resilient and tenacious.Hands-on attitude.Key Relationships and Department Overview:Key Relationships:Internal - General Management and Exco in respective country/Line Management, HRSS in Mumbai, Global HR, ER/IR department.External – Recruitment agencies, government entities, employees and potential candidates.
