Can you help us drive the changes that will positively affect Columbia Sportswear Company, its employees, its customers, and its consumers?As a HR Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting our organization by providing comprehensive human resources expertise. You will work closely with HR manager, department managers, and employees at all levels to deliver guidance on HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment. You will partner with leadership on staffing, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. You will also drive process improvements, support business-unit initiatives, and contribute to internal HR programs through data analysis, manager coaching, and employee engagement activities. Additionally, you will oversee onboarding programs, respond to policy inquiries, and train managers on HR procedures.This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to balance day-to-day HR operations with strategic projects that enhance organizational effectiveness.How You'll Make a DifferenceExecutes on employee issues. Provides guidance. Explains and interprets policies and practices. Assists middle managers and employees with development coaching based on current programs in the portfolio. Provides hands-on support to employees and managers and identifies trends for improvement and training. Aids Centers of Excellence (COE) with HR compliance through reviews of policies and legislation. Manages investigations (Tier 1 and Tier II). Performs initial intake and consults with Sr HR Generalist where escalation and recommendations lead to a performance action. Provides management training on HR policies and procedures in a group or individual setting. Continually enhances knowledge of state and federal regulations and current trends/practices pertaining to HR. Attends training and educational courses to enhance knowledge of all HR areas. Understands the need for appropriate data privacy protections when working with employee data. YOU ARESolve a variety of problems that may be somewhat difficult and varied in nature. Consult with staff members on more complex issues. Exercise judgment within defined parameters to make decisions on tasks with limited scope or complexity. Receive moderate level of guidance and direction on complex tasks. Working knowledge of the principles, practices and concepts within own job discipline; have broadened capability through practical experience in applying theories. Understand key business drivers; demonstrates knowledge of the organization and processes; use this understanding to accomplish their own work. Explain and simplify complex information to others; lead the coordination of information to ensure ongoing process or program execution. No supervisory responsibilities. YOU HAVEBachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience. Typically requires 3-5 years of professional experience, and general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.
