The Digital & Process Performance function is organized into key teams to drive transformation effectively. Processes & Applications focuses on modernizing core business processes, while Data & Analytics enables data-driven decision-making. IT Operations ensures reliable and secure IT infrastructure, and the Transformation Management Office drives Huhtamaki wide business transformation initiatives with strategic goals. Huhtamaki is on a journey towards becoming a data savvy organization, and we have launched several initiatives to carry us towards a digital future.

 We have been building a scalable data platform in Azure with our partners for some time and we are now enhancing our internal technical capabilities to develop the platform further – that’s where you come in.    Your opportunityWe are now looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team of seasoned professionals in Digital & Process Performance. This role is located in Espoo, Finland and it reports to the Head of Data Platforms and Analytics.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a pivotal contributor to the execution of our strategic data roadmap, designing and implementing data and reporting solutions to meet our rapidly evolving data requirements. Where you’ll beYou will be located at our Espoo HQ in Finland and should be within reasonable commuting distance from here. This is a primarily in-office role, with the flexibility of one remote day per week.

What you'll be doingDevelop, deploy, and maintain data solutions on the Huhtamaki Data Platform, an enterprise-level platform designed to ensure consistent data availability for reporting, application, and analytical use cases. Work primarily with structured data, including financial, manufacturing, procurement, sales & marketing, pricing and so on. Design and implement scalable, robust, and secure data solutions on Azure, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Data Lake, ETL/ELT processes, and other data processing. Create and maintain efficient data models and schemas to support business needs. Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Ensure security best practices and compliance are maintained across the Azure architecture. Provide ongoing support for data-related issues and troubleshoot problems promptly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data solutions that align with business goals. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Azure technologies and best practices.   What you’ll bring to the roleMin. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). Min. of 5 years of experience in Azure data engineering and data platform.

Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL. Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Pyspark, Azure Datawarehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, etc. Familiar with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. Familiar with networking, security, identity management and serverless computing in Azure. Familiar with scripting and automation using PowerShell, ARM templates, or similar tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Good experience in extracting data from various ERP systems and API-related development is a plus. Azure certifications (e. g.
