HR Business Partner Location: Remote (U.S. Based) Employment Type: Full-timeAbout the Role We are seeking a strategic and collaborative HR Business Partner to support the integration of a newly acquired California-based company. This role will be instrumental in managing the merger of 100–150 California employees and will lead day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, and cross-functional engagement. The HRBP will work closely with the SVP of Human Resources to execute the HR roadmap, drive organizational effectiveness, and ensure compliance with California labor laws.ResponsibilitiesStrategic HR PartnershipCollaborate with the SVP of HR to implement company-wide people strategies, including workforce planning and culture initiativesAlign HR practices with short- and long-term business prioritiesAct as a strategic advisor to business leaders, leveraging data and insights to shape the employee experienceLead change management efforts and support a high-performing, agile workforceEmployee Development & Performance EnablementIdentify talent gaps and support development plans to strengthen leadership and technical capabilitiesManage performance processes including goal setting, reviews, and development conversationsSupport succession planning and career pathing for key rolesFoster a culture of continuous feedback and growthTotal Rewards & Benefits StrategyOversee benefits strategy execution and annual open enrollmentLead employee communications to ensure understanding and engagementEvaluate program effectiveness and collaborate with external vendorsEmployee Relations & Culture StewardshipAdvise managers on team dynamics, performance, and conflict resolutionConduct and resolve complex employee relations investigationsSupport engagement and culture initiatives in partnership with HR leadershipUse survey and exit interview data to improve retention and moraleCompliance, Systems & HR OperationsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with emphasis on California regulationsPartner with Payroll, IT, and HR teams to maintain accurate HRIS data and operational processesManage audits related to benefits, leave, and employee recordsEnterprise Projects & Strategic InitiativesContribute to DEI strategy, talent reviews, policy modernization, and HR technology implementationDrive innovation and continuous improvement across HR practicesAdvise leaders on future workforce planning, structure, and change readinessMinimum Qualifications7+ years of progressive HR experience with both operational and strategic responsibilities3+ years in an HR leadership or management roleBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)Strong background in employee relations, performance management, talent development, and benefitsExperience supporting a multi-state workforce and deep knowledge of employment law, especially CaliforniaProficiency in HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite including TeamsStrong project management, communication, and coaching skillsAbility to work effectively in a remote environmentPreferred QualificationsHealthcare industry experiencePHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certificationExperience leading HR initiatives and working closely with senior leadershipCompetenciesInstills Trust: Leads with integrity and follows through on commitmentsSelf-awareness & Interpersonal Savvy: Responds to feedback and understands emotional dynamicsPlans and Aligns: Prioritizes work to meet business goals and adapts plans as neededBalances Stakeholders & Manages Conflict: Navigates competing interests and resolves conflict professionallyCommunicates Effectively: Shares ideas and data clearly, adapting to audience needsSituational Adaptability: Adjusts approach in real-time to meet changing demandsDecision Quality: Makes sound, timely decisions using analysis, judgment, and experience
