With continued investment in people, processes, and technology, the company remains committed to carrying forward its strong legacy of excellence in American manufacturing.Position OverviewThe Director of Human Resources will oversee all aspects of HR strategy and execution for a multi-plant, 600-employee operation. This hands-on leadership role will be responsible for driving initiatives that support a high-performance culture, ensure compliance, and align people strategies with business goals.The position manages a small but capable HR team (2–3 direct reports) and plays a key leadership role across payroll, benefits, labor relations, employee engagement, and organizational development.Key ResponsibilitiesCore AreasKey DutiesStrategic HR LeadershipPartner with senior leadership to shape and execute HR strategy aligned with company goals. Provide leadership coaching and develop programs that strengthen culture, engagement, and retention.Employee & Labor RelationsServe as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters. Lead or support collective bargaining negotiations and ensure consistent application of company and contractual policies. (Union experience preferred but not required.)Payroll & Benefits AdministrationOversee accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll. Manage benefits administration, 401(k) compliance, and vendor relationships to ensure competitive, cost-effective programs.Talent Development & Performance ManagementImplement training and development initiatives. Enhance performance review systems and succession planning to develop future leaders within the organization.Compliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain HR metrics, reporting, and data integrity.Community & Culture StewardshipPromote a family-oriented culture that values teamwork, integrity, and long-term stability. Serve as an ambassador for the company’s people-first philosophy.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.Demonstrated success managing payroll, benefits, and compliance across multiple facilities.Experience working in union or mixed labor environments preferred.Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.Hands-on leadership style — comfortable working both strategically and operationally.
