Position: HVAC & Process Utility EngineerReporting to: Engineering ManagerLocation: Nijmegen, Netherlands (Fully Onsite Role)About the Role: We are looking for an HVAC & Process Utility Engineer to join our engineering team in Nijmegen. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operation, compliance, and continuous improvement of cleanroom HVAC systems and process utilities, supporting production and operational excellence.Summary of Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the HVAC & Process Utility Engineer will:Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for cleanroom HVAC and process utility systems, including purified gases and water systems.Manage daily operations, preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and risk mitigation plans to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with SOPs and relevant regulations.Support utility capacity planning, equipment construction, and maintenance activities.Monitor system performance through trending and data analysis to ensure cleanroom and process requirements are consistently met.Maintain knowledge of regulations, standards, and technological advances in HVAC to support audit readiness and continuous compliance.Develop and maintain local procedures, work instructions, records, and training materials for HVAC and process utility systems.Manage spare parts inventory for HVAC and utility systems to ensure availability for maintenance and corrective actions.Provide technical support during audits and inspections, lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Support quality and EHS audits to maintain systems in a compliant and inspection-ready state.Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainability.Coordinate with contractors and suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring proper compliance and safety practices.Follow all company and safety policies, GMP requirements, and records management standards.Communicate operational issues and opportunities to management and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or Automation preferred).4–6 years of relevant experience in HVAC, utilities, or process engineering.Bilingual fluency in English; Dutch preferred.Experience in regulated industries (medical device, pharmaceutical) with knowledge of GMP/ISO 13485 preferred.Proven experience in HVAC systems operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.Knowledge of HVAC design, relevant standards, and codes.Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and maintenance/asset management tools preferred.Ability to interpret vendor reports and integrate findings into operational processes.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.What We Offer:Opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-tech engineering environment.Exposure to challenging projects and professional growth opportunities.Continuous learning and career development.Competitive benefits and a collaborative work culture.
