You will be working on physical and protective security uplift projects that underpin ASD’s mission to defend Australia against global threats.As a trusted advisor and contract management professional, you’ll work within an integrated team, overseeing complex contractual arrangements that support secure infrastructure, ICT systems, and protective security initiatives.This role requires someone with strategic insight, exceptional attention to detail, and the confidence to engage senior stakeholders across multiple Defence and Commonwealth entities.🧠 About the RoleThe ICT Contracts Manager will operate with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and professional judgement to deliver end-to-end contract management outcomes aligned with ASD’s procurement objectives.Your role will span the full lifecycle of contract management — from planning, sourcing, negotiation, and execution, through to performance monitoring, financial evaluation, and closure.You’ll ensure all contractual arrangements comply with relevant legislation and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), while driving efficiency, value-for-money, and continuous improvement across the contract landscape.⚙️ Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn this pivotal role, you will:🔹 Lead contract lifecycle management — overseeing the initiation, development, and ongoing management of complex ICT contracts within a Defence context. 🔹 Negotiate contract terms with vendors and service providers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. 🔹 Ensure milestone delivery and adherence to contractual obligations through rigorous monitoring and reporting. 🔹 Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, addressing performance gaps and ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements. 🔹 Champion change control processes and lead variation negotiations where necessary. 🔹 Promote continuous improvement programs, identifying opportunities for enhanced performance and value creation. 🔹 Conduct financial evaluations to ensure contractual performance aligns with ASD’s fiscal and strategic priorities. 🔹 Document lessons learned from reviews and promote best practices across the security uplift program. 🔹 Assist in procurement planning, tendering, and contract formation where required, ensuring compliance with all government procurement frameworks. 🔹 Prepare and maintain strategic and commercially sensitive documentation, including procurement templates, schedules, correspondence, submissions, and reports. 🔹 Build productive relationships with stakeholders, project teams, and vendors to ensure cohesive delivery. 🔹 Advise on contractual risks and opportunities, providing expert guidance to decision-makers.🧩 Key Selection Criteria✳️ Essential Criteria1️⃣ Government Procurement Mastery: Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, procurement and contract management within a government environment, in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, PGPA Act, and Australian Government Contract Management Principles.2️⃣ Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to liaise effectively across diverse and high-pressure environments.
