Job Description
An enterprise client is seeking qualified professionals with educational backgrounds in agriculture or related fields to support a project focused on crop type classification from satellite imagery. This role involves analyzing visual data and labeling agricultural fields to help build a high-quality dataset for improving crop classification models.Job Description:Selected talents will classify crop types from satellite images using street-view field images as ground truth references. You will determine crop types or mark areas as uncultivated based on visual information, following clearly defined workflow protocols provided by the client.Sample Workflow:Agricultural Area Presence: Identify if agricultural fields occupy more than a specified percentage (e.g., 40%) of the image.Field Visibility Assessment: Check if the field is occluded or visible.Partial Visibility: Annotate crop type or mark as uncultivated if identifiable.Clear Visibility: Label the crop type accurately.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Soil Science, or a related discipline.Technical Background: Knowledge or experience in Geography, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or GIS, particularly with exposure to crop identification or annotation.Agricultural Experience: Familiarity with crop identification, agricultural surveys, or image annotation work.Visual Analysis Skills: Ability to distinguish crop types from both partial and full image views.Preferred Skills:Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Familiarity with diverse crop types and agricultural practices.Experience using image annotation tools (an advantage but not required).Additional InformationEstimated Workload: Approximately 20 hours per week, on an as-needed basis, throughout the project duration.Contract Duration: Approximately 6 weeks, with workload subject to variation depending on project requirements and client needs.
