Job Description

Lunada Bay Tile is looking for an action-oriented, inquisitive problem-solver to drive operational excellence across our US and Mexico manufacturing and distribution operations. The ideal candidate brings practical engineering skills, proven labor management experience on both sides of the border, and a track record of resolving complex process and people challenges through first-principles thinking and Lean Manufacturing rigor. This position is based near Torrance, CA in Harbor City, CA, with 5-10% travel to Tijuana.Key Responsibilities Process & Operations Improvement Analyze manufacturing and distribution workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles. Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) in English and Spanish to ensure consistency and compliance across all operations. Work hands-on with production and distribution teams to translate process improvements into sustainable practices. Standard Work & Team Transformation Lead operational transformation by establishing standardized work practices, visual instructions, and measurable performance metrics. Train team members and supervisors on standardized procedures and the rationale behind process changes. Monitor compliance with standard work, identify deviations, and drive corrective actions. Labor Management & Development Directly manage and supervise production and distribution labor in the U.S. and Mexico, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Coach supervisors and team leads on maintaining standardized work during operational transitions. Engage employees in problem-solving activities and kaizen initiatives to drive bottom-up improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Use MS Teams/Project and Odoo ERP to coordinate projects and communicate across departments and international locations. Collaborate with quality, procurement, design, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations. Track key operational metrics, analyze trends, and present data-driven recommendations to leadership. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. 2-5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing and/or distribution operations, ideally in multi-site or large organization environments. Proven experience directly managing and supervising labor teams in both the U.S. and Mexico. Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives that established standardized work and operational discipline. Professional fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Proficiency with MS Teams and Odoo ERP. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to travel to Tijuana (5-10%). Preferred Lean Manufacturing certification. Training or certification in change management or process transformation. Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software. Experience in glass, ceramic, tile, or building materials manufacturing. Work Environment Full-time, on-site role in Harbor City, CA Occasional travel to Tijuana (passport required) Fast-paced, collaborative culture focused on operational excellence and continuous learning About Lunada Bay Tile Lunada Bay Tile are leaders in glass, ceramic and stone tile design, manufacturing, and distribution.
