Industrial Coating Specialist (Industrial Painter)Location: New Caledonia (On-site / Industrial Plant Project)Position Type: Project BasedDuration: 3-month ShutdownRelocation/Visa: Open to all nationalitiesThe RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Painter / Coating Specialist to join a major industrial plant project in New Caledonia. This is a critical role focused on the surface preparation and application of high-performance protective coatings to steel structures, tanks, and piping systems within a demanding industrial environment.The ideal candidate is a precision-oriented professional who understands that industrial painting is less about "aesthetics" and more about corrosion prevention and structural integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesSurface Preparation: Execute abrasive blasting (sand/grit/bead), power tool cleaning, and chemical degreasing to meet international standards (ISO, SSPC/NACE).Coating Application: Apply specialized industrial coatings including epoxies, polyurethanes, zinc-rich primers, and intumescent fireproofing using airless sprayers, conventional spray, brushes, and rollers.Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on blasting pots, spray pumps, and hoses.Quality Control: Conduct Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT) tests to ensure compliance with technical specifications.Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict HSE protocols, including working at heights, confined space entry, and the proper handling of hazardous materials.Qualifications & SkillsExperience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy industrial painting (Oil & Gas, Mining, or Marine sectors).Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of two-part epoxy systems and high-build coatings.Certifications: Preference given to candidates with NACE/AMPP or ICATS certifications.Physical Fitness: Ability to work in tropical climates, climb ladders/scaffolding, and wear full respiratory protection for extended periods.Communication: Functional English proficiency is required; French language skills are a significant plus given the location.What We OfferCompetitive International Package: Tax-effective salary based on experience.Mobilization Support: Assistance with visas, flights, and relocation logistics for international hires.Housing & Transport: Provided accommodation and site transportation.Global Environment: Opportunity to work with a diverse, multi-national team on a landmark infrastructure project.Why New Caledonia?Located in the heart of the South Pacific, New Caledonia offers a unique blend of French culture and breathtaking natural beauty.
