Assemble, install, configure, test, maintain, troubleshoot and revolve problems and provide user support and training for PC hardware, software and peripheral equipment.Purchase, receive, and process invoices for Information Technology (IT) hardware, software, equipment, services and supplies.Manage IT assets and perform complex clerical and routine administrative work in preparing, reviewing, evaluating and refining IT records, forms, materials and documents.Perform other related duties as required.Special Work RequirementsMay be required to lift computer hardware and peripherals such as PCs, monitors and printers, each of which may weigh up to 50 pounds.Apply today! Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.Experience RequirementTwo years of specialized work experience which demonstrated effective use of personal computers, peripheral equipment, and a variety of applications such as word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheet, and data base management, one year of which must have involved providing technical assistance and advice to users in resolving hardware and software problems by diagnosing and interacting with the users to provide technical instruction and information.Such Experience Must Have DemonstratedKnowledge of personal computers, peripheral equipment such as printers, modems, disk drives, and scanners, and various application software such as word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheet, data base, etc.; Knowledge of basic networking concepts; Knowledge of basic diagnostic methods and procedures to resolve user problems and the ability to provide effective on-site and telephone support services to system users in the diagnoses and resolution of user problems;Knowledge of methods and techniques of training for individuals and groups and the ability to plan, coordinate and provide technical assistance, instructions, and training on the proper use of a variety of computer equipment and application programs; Ability to install and maintain personal computer hardware and software applications based on established practices and procedures; Ability to evaluate software programs' functionality and effectiveness in meeting user needs; Ability to plan, organize and work independently.SubstitutionAn Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science from an accredited four-year college or university may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.A Bachelor's degree in Information Computer Science (ICS) or Management Information Systems (MIS) from an accredited four-year college or university may be substituted for the two years of required experience.The substitution must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided.
