Public Sector People (PSP) are partnered with a council in the eastern suburbs to recruit an Infringement Review Officer for a 6-month temporary contract.Duration: 6-month temporary contractHours: 38 hours per weekLocation: Eastern suburbsWorking arrangement: HybridRate: $38.72 per hour plus superIn this role, you will be responsible for undertaking timely and accurate assessments of infringement review applications. These may include matters from Parking Services, Local Laws, Animal Management, Asset Protection, and Health Services. You will review, investigate, and evaluate applications in line with the Infringements Act 2006, ensuring all decisions are legally sound, consistent, and well-documented.Key ResponsibilitiesAssessing infringement reviews and investigating claims to determine outcomes in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policy.Conduct the initial triage of infringement review applications, gathering and verifying all relevant documentation, including nomination statements and supporting evidence.Preparing high-quality, professional written correspondence to applicants, outlining decisions and reasons in a clear and empathetic manner.Maintaining accurate records within the infringement management system, including tasks such as processing penalty reminders, revocations, VicRoads checks, and referrals to Fines Victoria or court.Offering sound technical and legislative interpretation under the Infringements Act 2006 to support informed and consistent decision-making.To Be Successful, You Will BringDemonstrated experience working within a government environment in a similar function.Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation to a variety of situations with minimal supervision.Proven experience managing high volumes of casework accurately and efficiently.Excellent written communication and customer service skills, with a strong eye for detail and a focus on quality outcomes.Strong time management and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment.If you are seeking a rewarding opportunity where your decisions make a genuine impact in your community, we’d love to hear from you.Please note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
