About this role. . . As an Accountant, you will be crucial in delivering high-quality accounting services to our clients. You will be responsible for assisting with managing our portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, and completing tax compliance work for a range of entities. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and FBT returnsPrepare general ledger and balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain and reconcile fixed asset registersProcess bank transactions and reconciliations using accounting softwareAssist with preparation of income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companiesSupport in drafting financial statements and working papers for reviewReconcile ATO accounts with client records and assist with ATO correspondencePrepare draft queries for client review and approvalProvide support in SMSF compliance and reportingCollaborate with senior accountants to finalise financial statements and tax compliance About you Minimum 3-4 years of relevant accounting experienceMinimum 18 months' experience working in Australian public practiceStrong experience with Xero (essential)Experience preparing and processing BAS directly from XeroAbility to prepare financial statements to trial balance stage for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders in XeroXero Payroll experience highly regarded but not essentialFamiliarity with Class Super preferred but not essentialExposure to Business Fitness Active Workpapers desirable but not requiredProficient Excel skills (7/10 or higherOutstanding verbal communication skillsStrong written communication skills Prior Australian accounting experience (minimum 1-2 years) preferred What's in it for you?
