Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (Dublin)A leading multidisciplinary design consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its Dublin office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, practical, and adaptable engineer to grow within a progressive, innovative, and award-winning team.The successful candidate will have minimum 1 year experience working in an Irish design consultancy. You’ll collaborate as part of an integrated project team, ensuring efficient, sustainable, and compliant design solutions from concept through to completion.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake engineering design and design management tasks across multiple projects.Design and specify mechanical engineering systems in line with current regulations and standards.Work directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.Support pre-construction activities, including design development, coordination, and technical documentation.Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, and construction teams.Potential 2026 ProjectsMajor Healthcare Campus Redevelopment – design of high-efficiency HVAC and mechanical systems for a large hospital expansion.Flagship Commercial Office Development – sustainable building design targeting LEED Gold certification.Mixed-Use Residential Scheme – mechanical design for a multi-block development incorporating district heating and energy recovery systems.Skills & ExperienceDegree or diploma in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.Minimum 3 years’ experience in a design consultancy environment.Strong technical proficiency in mechanical systems design.Knowledge of CIBSE, ASHRAE, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards.Proficient in Hevacomp, AutoCAD, and MS Office.Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and attention to detail.Experience collaborating with clients, contractors, and vendors.BenefitsFlexible working arrangementsPension schemeProfessional membership supportChartership programmeLife assurance (death in service)Sick pay schemeAdditional service-related holidaysLunch & Learn CPD sessionsIf you are a design engineer, please call Grace Birch on 086 084 2014 or send your CV to g.birch@gpcireland.com.
