About the RoleA reputable External Asset Management (EAM) firm based in DIFC is seeking an experienced Investment Counsellor to join its Private Wealth Services team. The role is ideal for a professional with deep investment advisory experience, strong product knowledge, and a proven ability to manage and advise HNW and UHNW clients within a regulated environment.The Investment Counsellor will work closely with Relationship Managers to design, recommend, and monitor bespoke investment portfolios across global asset classes — ensuring full compliance with DFSA regulations (COB & GEN modules).Key ResponsibilitiesProvide tailored investment advice under non-discretionary mandates in line with DFSA suitability and appropriateness rules.Conduct client risk profiling, investment objective assessment, and asset allocation planning.Prepare investment proposals, performance reports, and market updates for clients.Deliver ongoing portfolio reviews, tactical allocation ideas, and market insights.Collaborate with Relationship Managers to enhance client engagement, retention, and satisfaction.Participate in developing the firm’s investment house view, product lists, and tactical market calls.Conduct fund, ETF, and structured product analysis(quantitative and qualitative).Liaise with custodian banks and research providers for product execution and support.Ensure full compliance with DFSA COB and GENrequirements, including documentation, suitability, and disclosure standards.Adhere to AML/CFT, client classification, and conflict-of-interest policies.Support internal and regulatory reviews, working with the SEO and Compliance Officer/MLRO.Coordinate with operations and custodian teams for accurate trade execution and reporting.Contribute to investment committee meetings and product due diligence reviews.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline (MBA preferred).Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, or CWM are preferred.8–10 years of relevant experience in Investment Advisory, Private Banking, or EAM roles.Strong understanding of DFSA regulatory framework(COB, GEN, AML).Proven success managing HNW/UHNW client portfolios in an advisory capacity.Deep knowledge of mutual funds, structured products, equities, fixed income, and alternatives.Proficient in Bloomberg, Morningstar, or similar portfolio tools.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Strong ethical standards, client-first mindset, and collaborative approach.Must meet DFSA “fit and proper” criteria and qualify as an Authorised Individual – Advisory Function.Key CompetenciesStrategic and analytical thinkingStrong interpersonal and client relationship skillsResult orientation and commercial acumenTeam collaboration and cultural sensitivityInitiative, adaptability, and resilienceCreativity and problem-solving abilityWhy JoinOpportunity to work within a boutique, entrepreneurial EAM platform in the DIFC.Exposure to multi-custodian, open-architecture modelsand diverse product offerings.Competitive remuneration structure and performance-based growth opportunities.High visibility and direct engagement with senior management and investment committees.
